Introduction Republic of Moldova
In 1991 the Republic of Moldova has obtained her independence and the title of country with beautiful valleys and landscape. In proximity to the Black Sea, the country has a sunny climate and a fertile soil. The rich mineral soil called chernozem is considered one of the best for fruits and vegetables grow. This makes the area ideal for agriculture and in generally food processing. Being an agrarian country, the agriculture is of paramount importance for the Country and today counts 45 % of the country’s domestic product. The main export activity is related to fruits and vegetables as potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, apples, plums, grapes, nuts and honey.
